Austin Wesley Irwin

Austin Wesley Irwin Sr., 75, of Sweet Home, Ore., died in his home on December 24, 2016 after a long battle with emphysema and COPD.

Born and raised in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, Irwin was a member of Sweet Home Christian Church and he worked as a truck driver for most of his life.

He loved God, his family and his dog, Bear. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and watching wrestling.

Austin was well known for his wonderful sense of humor and unmistakable laugh.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years. Mary L. Irwin and their five children: Austin Wesley Irwin Jr. of Boise, Sara Romans of Umatilla, Ore., Sheryl Hauth of Pine, Ariz., Daryl Irwin of Sweet Home, Ore. and Beverly Marick of Arlington, Ore.

He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and three great grandchildren, as well as many honorary children and grandchildren, his sister Jennifer Nies of Coeur D’alene, Idaho, and his brother James Irwin of Kellogg, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Irwin, as well as his brothers William and Ernie Irwin.
