Coming soon: Martin Luther King, Jr. & Nonviolence
A celebration of art, music and film to commemorate Martin Luther King, Jr. and his message of equality, respect, hope and nonviolence for all citizens will be held at The Pearl Theater on Saturday, Jan. 14, at 4 p.m.
The program “Martin Luther King, Jr. & Nonviolence” will include a slide show by Timothy Braatz, author and university professor of history and nonviolence.
There will also be a showing of the film “Mighty Times: The Children’s March”, a display of art projects by Boundary County Middle School students and music.
The event is sponsored by Boundary County Human Rights Task Force that was established in 1985 with a mission to increase awareness in our community of human rights according to Idaho law on malicious harassment.
The Task Force also offers support and aid to those who may be victims of discrimination or harassment because of race, color, ancestry, religion or national origin.
Understanding that it is the right of every person to be secure and protected from fear, intimidation, harassment and physical harm caused by the activities of groups and individuals is the basis of the programs and activities of the Task Force.
Join us in honoring Martin Luther King and his vision that “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”
The Boundary County Task Force on Human Rights exists to protect the quality of life and affirm human rights in Boundary County, Idaho.
Admission is free and everyone is welcome.
