Daisy Marie Coster Huggins

Daisy Marie Coster Huggins, born Feb. 26, 1934, at home in Sheridan, Wyo., died Dec. 22, after a brief battle with cancer, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones.

Daisy was born to George John Coster and Hattie Mae Busby Coster. She was the youngest of nine siblings.

Her early years were spent in Sheridan, Wyo. and Seattle, Wash., area. Her family moved to Bonners Ferry in the early 1940’s, where she attended school at Busy Bee School and Bonners Ferry High School.

At the age of 16, she met the love of her life, Donald Loren Huggins. They married on Jan. 6, 1951, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

They made their home in Bonners Ferry, Idaho where they had two sons, L.D. Kieth and Terry Michael.

Daisy spent her time working at various jobs in Boundary County, from waitress, sales clerk, working with special needs children, volunteering in the community for various public service positions.

She enjoyed spending time with her family. Especially her grandchildren, and extended adopted grandchildren.

Daisy was a talented artist, enjoyed painting, pottery, baking, cooking, crocheting, knitting, sewing, photography, camping (with BIG bonfires), and boating.

She never knew a stranger and could make anyone smile. Their home was always open to those in need. Loren and Daisy took troubled teens into their home for many years.

Daisy’s family was her life. She is preceded in death by her husband Donald Loren Huggins, parents George and Hattie Mae Coster, siblings George Otis Coster, Richard Leonard Coster, Adaline Elizabeth (Bridgette) Jones, Julia Margaret (Judy) Grubbs, Hattie Mae (Mickey) Stieke, and Andrew Sylvester Coster and Betty Maxine Smith.

She is survived by sons, L.D. Huggins (and Kathryn) and Terry Huggins (and Sue) all of Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Sister Dixie Lee DeRoshia, grandchildren, Loren (and Katie) Huggins, Seth (and Bonnie) Huggins, Devon (and Derek) Caperton, Ben Heart, Christa (and Jeff) Bradbury, and April Henslee (and Jacob High). Great Grandchildren, Kaytlinn, (and Drew) Bowles, Kody Rice, Kyler Rice, Klarity Rice and Kadin Rice, Rilynn and Walker Henslee, Hannah Huggins, Ella, Loren, Colman, and Abby Huggins. Great-great grandchildren, Bennett and Braxton Bowles.

Numerous nieces and nephews she loved as her own, along with too many cousins to count, and a tremendous amount of extended family and friends.

Mom said prior to her passing, that her story isn’t over yet, it is just beginning . . . She left many God winks for all of us and will be watching over each one of us.
