Stepping into the new year
The Drill Team played an important part in supporting the marching band.
This photo by the Valley Studio, shows some young ladies ready to step up to the task. Do you recognize them?
Do you know what year it may have been? If you have an answer, please email doyouremember@meadowcrk.com. If you would like to stay anonymous, just let us know.
Last week we shared a picture of the backside of the Copeland School when you are looking west.
Taken from the “History of Boundary County Volume 1”: Eveline Ruhberg walked five miles and crossed a river to attend school at Copeland. When the river ice was thick enough, Ed Farnum ice skated to school. Chauncey Guthrie reminisced about one teacher for all eight grades and 50 to 60 pupils. His first teacher was John Steele and there were only enough students that year, seven, to keep the school open.
Two weeks ago, we showed a picture of a Mt. Hall basketball team. Roberta Zimmerman and Tim Watkins assisted in putting a few names to the team members.
Lee Wright was the manager and is standing in the back on the left. The Coach was Jim Ansley and he is on the right. Back row, second player from the left is Steve Linnemeyer. Front row, left to right, we have: Jeff Parrish, Bob Robertson, Allan Dillin, Ken Reeves and Wally Fields. The team was from the late 1960’s.
It is a new year and the museum has so much to offer its visitors.
From the display on Dr. Fry; the tools of the lumbermen; clocks, clocks and more clocks; or the town’s first fire truck. There is something that will surely be of interest to the young and old alike.
See you soon!
