Richard Earl Eby, 82, of Moyie Springs, Idaho, previously of Libby, Mont., and as a child of Copeland, Idaho, died on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017, at the Libby Care Center surrounded by his loving family. Richard was born on Dec. 17, 1934, in Cady, S.D., to Joe and Eva Fletcher Eby. He was the eighth child out of eleven.

He married Beverly Cameron and they shared 63 years together. They move to Libby in 1958 and he went to work at J Neils Lumber Company, St Regis, and then Champion International. He retired in 1990 from the mill, working in the timber industry all his life.

Richard enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, looking for mushrooms, huckleberries and fire wood. His greatest love was his family, friends and very blessed to have many of both. He enjoyed helping people build, remodel, and repair. We used the saying ‘Have hammer will travel’ due to all the help he gave. He was always giving his time and opinion. He will be missed greatly by his family, he was loved beyond words.

Survivors include his wife-Beverly Eby; children Dixie Beasley (Denny Lester), Rick Eby (Shauney Fisher), Cheri (Robert) Javorsky; six grandchildren Les Beasley, Robin (Julianne) Maiden, Jeremiah (Danielle) Maiden, Trevor (Paige) Maiden, Tyler (Jessica) Beasley, Joseph Eby (Kristen Sikes); eight great grandchildren: Hailie, Barrett, Anson, Max, Penelope, Raymond, August and Wesley. Richard had many sisters, a brother, nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Fay, Don, Glen, Ralph, Bob; sister Velma and grandson Les Beasley.

The family express deepest gratitude and thank you to his doctor, Dr. Geyman and staff, the Libby Care Center and Boundary County Hospital for the gentle and loving care they gave him and his family.

There will be a memorial/luncheon on April 8, 2017 at Copeland, Idaho. Arrangements are by Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby. Online condolences and memories may be made at www.schnackenbergfh.com.
