Boundary County Community Theatre joins forces with The Pearl

| July 6, 2017 1:00 AM

Boundary County Community Theatre has a long history in our area, having produced 60 plays in a wide variety of venues over the last 45 years. The most recent 10 of these productions have been staged at the local, independent Pearl Theater.

These two non-profit organizations recently announced that they have now formally joined forces.

“We did not want to continue duplicating our efforts,” BCCT president Paul Rawlings stated. “Therefore, long standing members of our theater group voted in June to donate our existing funds, along with all our costumes and props, to The Pearl.”

Prominent director Vicky Thompson added that, “Of course, we will continue to put on the same kind of high quality plays that have always been so well received by our local audience.”

“The theater group’s relationship with The Pearl remains a healthy and mutually beneficial one,” Rhea Verbanik, president of The Pearl’s board of directors, added. “This step will only strengthen the work being done by the many talented thespians in our area, and we look forward to the continued success this union insures.”

When funds were dispersed, the theater group also chose to donate $500 to the Boundary County Historical Society, where all the scrapbooks and photo albums that document the long history of the BCCT are currently housed.
