Last week we shared a picture from the Boundary County Airport. It was a picture of the 50’ x 96’ hanger that the local Jaycees helped construct. The airport originated in March of 1947 when the Boundary County Commissioners exercised their option to purchase the first 156 acres on the North side. Originally a site, which Super 1 now occupies, was a consideration when a location was being sought.

Your Boundary County Historical Society and Museum, 7229 Main, Bonners Ferry, Idaho sponsors this column. During the summer, we will be open Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. To help maintain the buildings, a small entrance fee is requested. It is $2 per person or $5 per family. There is no charge for those younger than 14 years old or for the Boundary County Historical Society members. This Saturday, July 22, a birthday party will be taking place at the Museum. Come on down at 1 p.m., enjoy some cake, and help us celebrate the 100th birthday of the building that the Museum calls home. See you then!
