BONNERS FERRY — Mountain Springs Church has a new pastor stepping up to the church council. Justin Gibbins was officially commissioned on June 11 as the new Teaching and Vision Pastor.

“I give vision and direction to the church, and I teach,” Gibbins said.

The former Teaching and Vision Pastor, Garrett Graupner, came to Bonners Ferry in 2009 with a vision to found a church that is community based with friendly members. He envisioned creating a church where people from any walk of life could come in the doors and feel welcome and at ease, as well as provide support for the community as a whole. He arrived with this idea and continued to search for a successor to lead the congregation, with the church Elder Council, so that he could move on to develop more houses for the Lord in other areas with the same principle.

Four years ago, Justin Gibbins walked into Mountain Springs Church not knowing what to expect. Upon walking through the doors he said “I heard the word of God preached with power and met people that would give me the shirt off their back. Most significantly, I saw the hole in my life clearly for the first time and Jesus was the only thing that could fill it.”

“It is with great joy that I pass this responsibility on to Justin,” said Graupner. “He has a tremendous vision and God is going to use this amazing team of servants to do some incredible things in the Bonners Ferry community.”

With a new full-time youth pastor, John Miller, starting Aug. 1, the preschool, and upcoming coffee ministry, the Mountain Springs Church is busy and lively.
