BONNERS FERRY — Time to dust off that old mitt in your garage and search for your bat and cleats. 9B Adult Co-Ed Softball is upon us!

While summer softball is definitely not new to Boundary County, this will only be the second year, of late, that the league is run by a group of volunteers separate from Parks and Recreation.

The league aims to provide a fun and safe recreational opportunity for anyone 18 and older to enjoy. Last year there were five teams and this year we hope to have six plus teams! All one needs is five men and five women to form a team.

Registration packets and other pertinent information are available in our 9B Adult Co-Ed Softball League group on Facebook. The team fee is $400 which helps to pay for insurance, new softballs, chalk, field maintenance, scorebooks, etc. One of the main goals is to have enough league funds to pay for umpires in the near future. Teams are encouraged to find a sponsor to help pay for any/all of the team fee and to get their own creative team T-shirts!

Do you have a team but are shorthanded a player or two? Or do you want to play but don’t have a designated team? Fear not – in the Facebook group there is a “Free Agent” list that individuals can sign up on to be picked up by teams that may need an extra male and/or female player. Our goal is to do our best to make sure anyone who wants to play can play!

We hope you join the 9B Adult Co-Ed Softball League. There’s nothing better than swinging the bat, getting dirty and enjoying the beautiful summer evenings with new and old friends! Cheers!
