Penny Lynne Ross-Howell
Penny Lynne Ross-Howell, 57, died on May 20, 2017 in the comfort of her own home. She was born on Dec. 5, 1959 to Laurel and JoAnn Johnson.
She enjoyed camping, baking, canning, and visiting her friends at the local Senior Center.
Penny was the loving wife and best friend of Virgil Howell. Her pride and joy were her seven grandchildren. Her bright smile and wacky sense of humor will be missed by all who knew her.
Penny is survived by her mother JoAnn Johnson; husband Virgil Howell; daughter Rhonda (Corby) Thompson; son Reuben Ross; son Reggie Ross; daughter Andre’a (Benjamin) Leach; sister Lauren Bowlby; brother Gary Johnson; brother Joe Johnson; grandson Richie Ells; grandson Dyllan Thompson; granddaughter Laneka Thompson; granddaughter Brooklynn Thompson; grandson Rylan Leach; grandson Benson Leach; grandson Maxwell Leach; and great grandson Paxton Ells.
She was preceded in death by her father, Laurel Johnson.
Although Penny is physically gone, she will always be alive in our hearts. We will remember her when we hear a silly joke, as we swat away a bee (or a fly for that matter), when we watch her favorite program (The Today Show), spot camouflage shorts and flip flops, or spray a spritz of just the right perfume.
In honor of our mom, a message to all who knew her; her famous last words, “Love you, Later!”
We would like to invite all of our family and friends to join us in a celebration of life at her favorite campsite, Smith Lake, on Sunday, June 11, at 1 p.m.
