The students are: Charlie Patton, Gracie Munden, Amauri Ortiz, Allie Johnson, Petyon Malizia, Libby Smith, Cameron Kerttu, Taren Bateman, Jack Webster, Kaitlynn Kittell, Kai Aitken, Mary Moon, Jasmin Stolley, Teresa Shottanana-Pounce, Lylah Anderson, Markynn Pluid, and Quentin Phelps-Beagle.

The students and staff at VVES are truly enjoying the change of weather and appreciate greatly the grass creeping through the snow. It feels like spring and with that comes excitement and a renewed energy for the school day.

Each month Mrs. Petesch does the Family Fitness Challenge which encourages families to be active together.

This month’s winner is 5th grader, Riley Petesch from Mrs. Weymer’s class and he received a new tennis racket and balls. Congratulations Riley!

If there are any questions regarding Family Fitness Challenge please don’t hesitate to contact Mrs. Petesch at school.

It is a privilege to announce that Mrs. Fuentes received a grant from James Patterson Scholastic Book Club in December of 2016.

These funds will assist with reading an increase the schools’ inventory to help student’s excitement for reading, learning, and comprehending material.

This grant will also be utilized to grow sets of classroom books so all students can read stories together.

In May of 2016, Mrs. Fuentes, Mrs. Smith, and Mrs. Fuller received an Art Powered School grant.

This is to integrate art within the curriculum and have a local artist named Terrie Kramer share her knowledge with our students.

The art the students create will be on a touring exhibit around the state of Idaho and will be showcased at the state capitol.

Great job Mrs. Fuentes’ class!

Last week at VVES we celebrated Dr. Suess Week and the students and staff had a wonderful time reading new books, learning about Theodor Seuss Geisel, and dressing up differently each day.

It was a great week of events which provided both a solid education and some fun memories.
