Benefit dinner, auction for George Gemind
On Friday, Nov. 3, from 6-8:30 p.m., Mountain Springs Church will be hosting a chili feed, silent auction, and live auction for George Gemind.
George is a retired fireman from the city of Glendale. He has spent his entire life serving his community. After George retired, he and his bride of 32 years moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho, where George and Cathy built their dream home together. Life was good. Life was perfect. George and Cathy became established in the community and their church.
George and Cathy have a strong faith in God and trust in Him completely. Many times George has been there for others in his community both in California and now here in Idaho. Now it is our turn to help George.
You see, George started feeling a pain in his side a few months ago, but being the manly man he is, he just thought he pulled a muscle. BUT the pain didn’t go away and he couldn’t get rid of the constant cough he had. A few weeks ago, he finally went to the doctor who diagnosed him with Stage 4 lung cancer. The cancer has spread to different parts of his body. This all came as a complete shock to both George and Cathy. Being a fireman all those years obviously exposed George to some nasty stuff which he is suffering for now.
The treatment George needs is very expensive and is not covered by his insurance. This is where you come in. We need your help and support for George and Cathy. Please share with everyone you know and join us for a night spent auctioning items donated by this generous community. Tentative treatment start date is Nov. 13. We serve a mighty God!
