BONNERS FERRY — Bonners Ferry High School Wrestling team is kicking off the 2017-2018 season with practices mainly consisting of conditioning. The students were instructed to perform exercises that both conditioned their bodies and taught them moves to help them in their matches.

“The goal for this year is to qualify more individuals for State — 8+ wrestlers — produce more state players, place first or second at districts, have all wrestlers be able to compete in 20 or more matches, and keep at least 30 wrestlers for the length of the season,” said Coach Conrad Garner.

There are also a couple of girls on the team, but Idaho doesn’t recognize girls wrestling, so the girls will have to wrestle boys. “I will try to get matches with the girls team in Washington once we get going more into the season,” said Garner.

With this being the beginning of the season, the goals are set for the team. From face-off to finish, the wrestling team will be working hard to accomplish them.
