School is already 1/8 of the way done? Hard to believe time can go so fast but when you are really busy I guess it is hard to see time go by. BCMS is as active as always while students and staff participate in a myriad of events.

First, let’s congratulate our September Citizens of the Month for showing responsibility. Sixth grade students were Asha Abubakari and Addy Heigel, seventh grade was Travis “Junior” Atkins, eighth grade was Wyatt Hart and Sierra Petesch, and our staff selection was Mr. Paul Bonnell. All these individuals show great respect to others.

Next, let’s talk about our activities program featuring large numbers involved in Football, Cross Country, Volleyball, Cheerleading, Choir, Drama, and Band. Participation numbers are high for all of our programs so if you haven’t had a chance to come support our many involved students please do so before the season ends.

BCMS recently celebrated Dig Pink Breast Cancer Awareness by having students and staff dress up wearing pink. It was amazing to see how many students and staff wore pink. The school even played a few songs about the color pink in between classes to help raise the spirit.

Choir hosted a concert on Oct. 17.

We will be participating in Red Ribbon Week during the week of Oct. 23.

We will also be hosting a book fair during the week of Oct. 23.

Band is hosting its annual Spaghetti Feed and Band Concert on Oct. 24.

BCMS Leadership is sponsoring a Ladies in Leadership event in the Homestead Great Room, Saturday, Oct. 28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This event will have several local vendors selling their wares as a celebration and recognition of local lady leaders. You can contact Kelly Hinthorn to get more information.

Picture retakes will be Monday, Oct. 30.

The end of the quarter is Nov. 2!

Our students are also involved in several other projects. Staff is gearing up to roll out more options such as the Patriot’s Pen Essay Contest, the spelling bee, the geography bee, and ongoing art endeavors.

Of course, Halloween is coming up soon as well. BCMS is allowing costumes to be worn on Halloween Day as long as faces are not covered and weapons are not brought to school (real or fake). We will also be having activities at the end of the day on Halloween that students can earn by having good grades and no real behavior concerns.

Due to this being mid-quarter already, we sent report cards home with students on Wednesday, Oct. 11.

GO BADGERS!
