Do You Remember: After School Activities

| September 7, 2017 1:00 AM

This group is not in their club uniforms, but they are part of a local group. Do you know who they are and what they were dressed up for? If you have an answer or story, please email doyouremember@meadowcrk.com or call the museum. If you would like to stay anonymous, just let us know.

The Copeland Ferry was shown in last week’s photo. Billie Krause, Jeraldine Dirks Unruh and an anonymous reader identified it for us. Jeraldine knew the passengers as she was one of them! She is on the left and then her sister, Wilma Dirks, and then her brother Wes Dirks. The next student might be Gene Inman, and then we find Dennis Ripatti and the bus driver Frank Beck.

Frank drove the bus for two years. The school district wanted to stop this bus route, but the families insisted it was needed. They asked Martha Dirks, mother of the students, and she would take over and drive for the next 16 years. The kids were in high school. The picture is dated in about 1959.
