Badgers fall to CDA JV in extra innings

CDA JV 5, Bonners Ferry 4 (8 innings)

The Bonners Ferry varsity baseball team had an errant throw in the top of the 7th inning which allowed the tying run to score, and the Coeur d’Alene JV squad took advantage in the top of the 8th by scoring the winning run on a one-out double to center field.

The Badgers had a chance to even the score in the bottom of the 8th, but Mason Eby was tagged out at the plate for the final out.

Senior Will Parr pitched five innings for the Badgers, giving up three early runs on only two hits, while striking out seven. Chris Sabin came in relief and took the loss, giving up two runs on three hits.

The Badgers outhit the JV Vikings 7-5 but left seven runners on base.

The Badgers were led in hitting by Ty Bateman going 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI, while Will Parr went 1 for 4 with a RBI double.

Bonners Ferry hosts St. Maries at 4 p.m. today, April 12, and the Badgers start league play on Saturday, April 14, at home against Priest River.

Kellogg is scheduled to visit BFHS April 17.
