Grace Bible Fellowship Church hosts Awana Grand Prix

Anticipation was high and fun contagious for Grace Bible Fellowship’s 23rd Annual Awana Grand Prix when GBF along with Springs of Living Water Free Methodist Awana clubbers took time out from reciting Bible verses, playing fast–action games and participating in Bible/Gospel based lessons in order to design and race their hand-crafted pinewood racers.

This year’s winners for Beginner Design were: James Morgen taking the first place, second went to Kendall Thorne; and Joe Howell took the third place Beginner Design trophy home.

Advanced Design winners were: Lexie Fields earning first; Levi Coffman taking second, and Kyalynn Comer taking the third place Advanced Design trophy home.

Winners in the Speed division were a Comer family sweep with Annabeth Comer coming in first, Kyalynn Comer taking second and Zander Comer blazing down the lanes for the third place Speed trophy.

Winners in Adult Design were: Ruth Allinger in first, Jonathan Snider in second, and Haven Madrid taking third in Adult Design. Winners in Adult Speed were Haven Madrid first, Ruth Allinger second and Jonathan Snider third in Adult speed.

Ottilie Gorino delighted race fans by earning the coveted Slowest Car award this year.

Taking home participation ribbons this year were: Alexys Madrid, Andrew Allinger, Wyatt Pew, Ella and Holly Alexander, Abby and Gabe Pierce, Kanilea Duke, Olivia and Levi Coffman, Alaina Nicoles, Benjamin , William and Jonathan Hollabaugh, Ayda Logan, Logan Thorne, Sophie Morgen, Bentley Fulton, Darien, Makenzie, and Neriah Yoder, Marley and Sully Pauls, Ana Chase, Jaime Dorhofer, Levi and Eloisa Gorino and Lilly, Benton and Jacob Parlane.

Our special thanks and appreciation goes to Andrew Martin and Jonathan Snider for getting the beautiful track handcrafted by Rich Carlson and setting it up and Andrew officiating at the race.
