BONNERS FERRY — The Badger girls soccer team played their first home game against Priest River, losing 3-0.

On Aug. 25, the team played a home game against Stillwater and came out on top, winning the game 1-0 on a 73rd minute goal by sophomore forward Makayla Mierke. Junior goalkeeper, Emily Sanchez made seven saves, including a penalty kick stop in the 65th minute.

On Aug. 28, they played an away game against Kellogg, losing the match 2-1. Kellogg scored their two goals in the first half, trailing the Badgers 2-0 at halftime. In the second half of the game, the Badgers mainly possessed the ball, which paved the way for Prairie Plaster to make a goal in the 68th minute.

“Despite repeated pressure the Badgers were unable to score the tying goal,” said coach Ed Moe.

The next home game will be on Friday, Aug. 31, at noon against St. Maries. For more information on scheduling, visit www.bfbadgers.com.
