The big news is the High School Trapshooting Club raffle sponsored by the Gun Club, and with the wonderful gifts donated by our local businesses is over. The winning tickets were drawn Saturday, Aug. 25, at the barrel racing event at the Boundary County Fairgrounds around 1:30 p.m.
The winner of the grand prize of a new Yamaha 450 Kodiak ATV donated at their cost by Cal and Barbara Russell, owners of Boundary Tractor, was Paul Janda of Naples, Idaho. The Kootenai River Inn Suite, spa and dinner donated by the Kootenai Tribe of Idaho and Manager, Tom Turpin, was won by Mr. and Mrs. D. Wilson of Bonners Ferry. The 42 inch flat screen T.V. from Super 1 Foods was won by D. Young of Bonners Ferry. North Idaho Energy Logs donated 1 ton of pellets or 1 pallet of presto logs won by R. Cowin of Moyie Springs, and last was Darlene Young (no relation to D. Young) won $100 gas card from Chuck Quillin owner of the 3 Mile Exxon Station.
“Dukes Claybusters,” Bonners Ferry High School, and Bonners Ferry Gun Club wish to thank everyone for your support. I’m sure we have enough funds now the 2018-19 year ahead. Thanks again Boundary County, it makes you feel so good to give back and help the young school kids interested in gun safety and a good clean competition shooting sport.
The Clay Busters had four shooters Saturday. Melanie Campbell is improving, Karen Nelson breaking 21s and 22s x 25, Seth Rice 23 and another perfect 25 x 25. Great Shooting. We also had a new shooter, Wyatt Hathaway first time out, broke a 10 x 25 then 17 x 25 and 20 x 25. What great shooting for the first time.
School is starting soon, keep these grades up. Good grades make better scores, concentration is the key. More news — next week 10 a.m. Wednesday; 10 a.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday.
