BONNERS FERRY — One of the many perks about living in Boundary County is the variety of outdoor activities. Among the popular spring and fall events that people from all around attend, is off-road motorsports.
Since 2013, Mountain Mafia Entertainment LLC has been working with local businesses and neighbors to bring the opportunity for people to have access to a venue and compete with other motorsport enthusiasts.
“Bonners Ferry is a special place that promotes hard work and freedoms,” said Mac Miltz from Mountain Mafia Entertainment. “It is great to know our business is making a strong positive impression on the community and bringing in people and large companies like AMSOIL to visit.”
With five events throughout the year, they aim to bring more tourism to the area, giving visitors a chance to stop and stay awhile.
The Mafia makes an annual trip to Las Vegas for the AEMA Automotive Convention, where they met with television networks such as NBC, CBS, and Discovery last year. Over the winter, the group decided to air a television show focusing on off-road motorsports at their venue located north of Bonners Ferry. The show’s first episode aired on the Discovery Network and the Velocity/Motortrend channels on Nov. 24, and are continuing to come out. The six-episode season will be available on Amazon Prime in early 2019.
“Mountain Mafia Entertainment owns all intellectual property, raw footage, rights and controls to the show,” said Miltz. “This ownership and control is very important to us and furthering our business and motorsport. No one is telling us what to do. It is our show, our way.”
The show was filmed entirely in Boundary County at their venue, bringing more national recognition to the sport.
“The Mafia literally handled all aspects of TV. Everything from air-time acquisitions, hiring Sendit Productions, funding the project, scripting, producing and directing,” said Miltz. “There is no ‘Hollywood’ or reality based drama. We made sure to keep it real and focus on the actual people, competitors and action of motorsport. The community of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, is painted in a great, professional light. A community that we hold tight and love. We can not do what we do without Bonners and are extremely grateful.”

The enthusiasts who are into off-roading are really into it, which is readily apparent here at the AMSOIL sponsored competitions taking place in the mountains of Idaho’s Northern Panhandle,” said Ed Newman from AMSOIL. “The spectacular beauty sweeps over you like a full body massage for the soul. This is a part of the world where the original mountain men lived. These men created an off-road paradise and call themselves the Mountain Mafia. 2019 will be year six and they are committed to continued growth. Their outdoor entertainment venue and five annual events for off-road motorsport is the Woodstock for gearheads. It’s as if everyone here is part of an extended family.”

With events coming up this spring in addition to the airing of their first TV show, the Mafia will be busy.
