David C. Hunrichs

David C. Hunrichs passed away at Kootenai Medical Center, shortly after being diagnosed with cancer, on Friday, Nov. 30, 2018, at the age of 62, surrounded by his mom and two sisters.

David is survived by his mother, Margaret Hunrichs of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; his sister and brother-in-law, Esther and Jim Phillips of Kayenta, Ariz., and sister and brother-in-law, Julie and James Vinton of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, and nieces and nephews: Christie (Kelly) McCauley, Katie and Joshua Phillips, C.J. and Kassandra Vinton and great-nieces and great-nephews: Hannah, Lexie, and Johnathan McCauley, and Dante and Domanic Vinton-Musial.

David graduated from Sahuarita High School in Arizona in 1974. He spent his younger years living in Tucson, Ariz., and then moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho, to live with his mom in 2005.

David had a great love for animals, especially his golden lab, Sammy. He enjoyed taking the dogs for walks and throwing tennis balls for them. His humor, loving and gentle spirit will genuinely be missed.

David truly enjoyed his Fridays out with his friends. He loved going out to eat at all the different restaurants in Bonners Ferry and spending time talking with his group. He loved Coca-Cola and Snickers bars.

A celebration of life is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at the Lutheran Church in Bonners Ferry. All are welcome to attend and celebrate David’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Rawlings Community Counseling Services. Condolences can be sent to bonnersferryfuneralhome.com.

His family would especially like to thank everyone at Rawlings for filling David’s life with love, joy, friends, and activities that truly made his life complete and full. And we would like to thank the staff of Kootenai Medical Center ICU for the loving and understanding care they provided David in his final days.
