Dorothy Marie White

Dorothy Marie White, 63, passed away on Dec. 1, 2018, at the Clovis Community Medical Center in Clovis, Calif. A wake was held on Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, at the Kootenai Tribal Hall. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, with interment in the St. Michael’s Mission Cemetery.

Dorothy Marie White was born Oct. 11, 1955, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, to Basil White and Cecille Adams White. She lived in Copeland with her great-grandmother Teresa David until she was placed into foster care at age four. Dorothy remained in foster care until she was sent to St. Joseph’s Children’s Home at 16 where she remained until she came of age. As an adult, she returned to Bonners Ferry, making her living working various jobs at the Bonners Ferry Restorium, and the Kootenai Tribe.

She traveled to Hawaii, Seattle, Portland, Spokane, and Las Vegas. Dorothy was known as Auntie Dot, and she made many friends wherever she lived, but Bonners Ferry was home.

She is survived by a son, Josh White, and two grandchildren, Richard and Cheyenne, and many relatives. She will be missed very much, such a friend to all. Funeral arrangements are made by Bonners Ferry Funeral Home. Mass will be at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Dot had a special relationship with her Heavenly father. After a long illness she now home, safe.
