Letter to the Editor: Response to Eric Dante Sentencing

TRIAL: Blaming the victim is pretty low

I think it was pretty low of Eric Dante’s defense to try to say Jesseka Musson was the abuser in the final hour. They claim she was a biker, and bikers were threatening Eric and his family, but yet they can’t name any of these “scary” people by name. Nor do they seem to live in fear of these scary people now that she is dead. Doesn’t add up that these people were threatening the Dantes when she was alive to defend her but now that he killed her they “don’t care.”

He killed her, not the other way around. He pulled the trigger and shot her in the face as she sat there with her hands crossed as her lifeless body laid over her folded hands. I’m sure she was praying. She was a woman of faith and believed in God.

Our family does not claim Jesse was perfect; she had struggled in her life. At the end of the day Eric Dante could have walked away, left the relationship, but instead he chose to grab a gun and kill Jesseka. He looked her in the eyes and shot her beautiful face. Who does that? A murderer does.

He will serve his time and face his maker. He knows what he did and he has to live with it.
