She was born in Bowman, N.D., on Nov. 6, 1933, to Vere and Hulda (Gross) Padgett. As a young child, her family moved to Boundary County, Idaho, and homesteaded on the North Bench. In 1954, Ruby married Earl Erickson from Bowman, N.D. They had three children and eventually moved back to Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

Ruby will be remembered for many things. She had an amazing green thumb! She loved sharing the bounties from her vegetable and perennial gardens. She was a seamstress and enjoyed doing many crafts. Ruby was a great cook and baker, and in the mid-1970s, she and Earl became the owners of the Chic ‘N Chop restaurant. Most of all, she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend!

She is survived by her three children: Leland Erickson (Linda), Ronald Erickson (Edith), and Terri (Erickson) Henderson (David), eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by Earl Erickson (husband), Vere and Hulda Padgett (parents), Dale Padgett (brother), Delores (Padgett) Clark (sister), and many relatives and friends whom she loved dearly.
