Ronald (Ron) Wilbur Dudley

Ronald (Ron) Wilbur Dudley of Port Richey, Fla., passed away in Naples, Idaho, on Dec. 7, 2018. Services were held at Meadowlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 4244 Madison St., New Port Richey, FL 34652 on Monday, Dec. 17, 2018, with burial immediately following.

Ron was born to Gustavus and Joyce (McCallum) Dudley in Whitinsville, Mass., on Oct. 24, 1934. Two brothers, Dana and David, preceded him in death. His sister, Marilyn (Larry) Holland resides in Seattle, Wash.

After graduating high school, Ron started working for Sears Roebuck as a shoe salesman, and in future years he worked in management for Woolworth, Kings Department Store, and Ben Franklin Stores. He also worked in sales for Williamson Dickies Work Apparel before opening his own health food store.

While working at Sears, Connie Rawson began riding with him to her work. After a short time, they became engaged (Nov. 2, 1954) and married Feb. 27, 1955. They are survived by six children — Dan (Brenda) Dudley of Fayetteville, Ga., Rhonda (Michael) James of Port Richey, Fla., Natalie (Scott) Hilt of Quincy, Mass., Mark (Betty) Dudley of Nebo, W.Va., Beth (Ed) Stembridge of Toulon, Ill., and Cory (April) Dudley of DeBary, Fla. Ron and Connie had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Cory, as an infant, was admitted to the hospital. A pastor came to visit at the hospital and also came to the home. Because of this outreach, Ron trusted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. Ron joined the Gideons International Tarpon Springs Camp while working for Dickies. Ron and Connie grew in their knowledge of and love for God and in their later years traveled to Europe, taking Bibles and distributing tracts. Their joy was to see others come to know the Lord. In March 2018, Connie went home to be with her Lord. Ron married Jan Geoghegan Sept. 23, 2018. They were spending time together at his second home in Idaho at the time of his passing.
