COEUR d’ALENE — The Lady Badgers and the Kellogg Wildcats faced each other three times in 11 days ... and could have a fourth matchup on Friday.

After losing to the Wildcats in Monday’s 3A district opener, Bonners Ferry kept its season alive Wednesday afternoon with a 70-22 win over Priest River in a district loser-out game at North Idaho College in Coeur d’Alene.

With the victory, the Badgers (17-5) face the loser of Wednesday night’s Kellogg-Timberlake district championship game, which finished after press time. If two-time defending state champion Timberlake wins, the Wildcats will visit Bonners Ferry for a 6 p.m. second-place game on Friday night, with the winner heading to next week’s state tournament at Skyview High School in Meridian.

- In Monday’s opener, cold shooting in the first half, along with foul trouble and a tough Kellogg press in the second half, hurt the Badgers in their 44-40 loss to Kellogg Monday night at North Idaho College.

Jaron Figueroa hit 10 of 12 free-throws and scored a game-high 19 points to lead Kellogg. Kassy Skeen (12 points) and Holly Ansley (11 points) led Bonners Ferry.
