Robert Roy Purinton

Robert “Bob” Purinton of East Wenatchee, Wash., passed away peacefully on Jan. 25, 2018 at Regency Wenatchee. Bob’s friendship and loving ways will be missed by all who knew him.

Bob was born in Colorado Springs, Colo., on May 22, 1928. His family relocated to Bonners Ferry, Idaho, when he was a child. Bob remained in Bonners Ferry until the 1960s when he and his loving wife Amy settled in East Wenatchee. He retired from Cascade Transport where he worked for many years transporting fuel.

After retirement, Bob and Amy greatly enjoyed the several years they spent traveling to Wickenburg, Ariz., for the fall and winters, where they met and retained numerous good friends. Bob enjoyed camping, gardening, socializing, and his breakfasts out at favorite restaurants.

He is preceded in death by his mother Elizabeth “Pearl” and father Edward “Ted” Purinton, his adored wife Amy Purinton, brother Bill Purinton, sister Bertha Martin, son Bob Purinton, and grandson Justin Purinton. Bob is survived by his brother Vern Purinton, children Dan Purinton, Jim Purinton, and Vicki Olson; his grandchildren Jennifer Purinton, Rachel Fenner, Hayden Olson, and James Purinton; and his great-grandchildren Isaac, Mya, and Landon Fenner.

A special thanks to Bob’s dear friends and neighbors who helped him keep his independence for so long. Thanks are also extended for the extra kindness and support from Blossom Valley Assisted Living and for the care he received at Regency in his final days. No services are planned at this time.
