Bonners Ferry School Trap Team: 'Dukes Claybusters'

| February 22, 2018 12:00 AM

I sure hope you parents are as proud of your kids shooting as I am, as these scores are very good. For shooting in the worst weather we’ve had all winter, 10 degrees and snowing sideways with a hard wind.

Juniors Wade Rice broke 22 – 16 yard 20 handicap and Connor Black 15 - 16 and 14 handicap, Rebeckah Erickson broke 11 – 16 yard. For sub-juniors Seth Rice 14 – 16 yard and 17 handicap. We had a new shooter today and I apologize, his name is Brent and I didn’t get his last name. From Coeur d’Alene, first time shooting a loaner gun, 14 -1 6 yard and 12 handicap. Remember, get those good grades first and your scores shooting will also improve. Both take determination and concentration and a big smile when you do well in both.

Feb. 18, 18 degrees, north wind and very cold.

We had 10 member shooters. We lost two, Clint Kimball and Bill Bustillios to the snow storm as they both work for the county, we all owe them a Thank You for the long hours they work, being short handed every time we get a big dumping of snow. Thank You! to all the county workers. “A” class was won by your truly with a lone 40 x 50. “B” class was won by Ken Nystrom with 37 x 50. “Dukes Claybusters” received another donation by member Dennis and Charlene Johnson. Thank you very much. Break’em all and keep your powder dry.
