Douglas Allen Flory

Nov. 13, 1939 – Dec. 22, 2017

Age 78

Doug was born Nov. 13, 1939 in Kellogg, Idaho, to Addie Bell and Edwin Flory. He entered into heaven on Dec. 22, 2017 from his home near Bonners Ferry surrounded by his family.

He moved with his parents and brother Larry to Copeland, Idaho, in 1953, where he attended Mount Hall School and Bonners Ferry High School, graduating in 1958. He spent the remainder of his life in Boundary County raising his family and enjoying life to the fullest.

Doug worked at the Louisiana Pacific Lumber mill in Moyie Springs 33 years, retiring as plant manager in 1998. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed woodworking. He built three homes and loved making furniture and gifts for his friends and family. He accepted Jesus Christ as his savior at a young age and will be most remembered for the love he had for the Lord, his family and friends. He was affectionately known by many as “Uncle Doug.”

He was preceded in death by his parents, Addie and Ed, and his brother, Larry. Survived by his wife, Claire, and children Alan (Debbie), Kevin (Staci), Rob (Randi), Darin and Tessa (DelMar). Also his nine grandchildren, Meghan, Kyle, Karrie, Michael, Jesse, Paul, Tyler, Krystal and Colton; and six great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him until we meet again in heaven.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, at Mountain Springs Church, Bonners Ferry, Idaho.
