AMBULANCE: Some facts about coverage

A few weekends ago, an injury occurred at a “for-a-profit” event being held at the Fairgrounds. Boundary Ambulance was unaware of the event and had not been requested to do a medical standby at the event. There were several folks in our community who responded very negativity on social media on their perceptions on what the issue was. I want to take this opportunity to educate our awesome 9B community on how Boundary Ambulance handles event standbys.

First off, if you, or your group wants an ambulance crew to come out and show-n-tell an ambulance and the equipment we carry, please let us know, this is free of charge to our community.

Second, if you want an ambulance and you are a not-for-profit group or event, please reach out to us, we offer our services free of charge.

Lastly, if you are a “for a profit” group that is required to, or wants to have an ambulance standby, reach out to us and we will provide a crew at a fee.

We have a Captain that is assigned the duties of making sure that events get covered and he does a remarkable job. We hate to see our Drivers/EMTs/Paramedics get beat up on social media and want to make sure that we are all educated on how this process works. Please never hesitate to ask questions of me directly if you ever see something you don’t understand. I am always happy to explain!
