BONNERS FERRY — A home on Highway 2 was lost due to a fire on Sunday, July 8.

When Curley Creek Volunteer Fire District arrived on the scene, the house was already fully involved. They called for mutual aid and received help from North Bench Fire, South Boundary Fire, Hall Mountain Fire, McCormick Fire, and Moyie Springs Fire.

“It was great to see so many agencies respond and work together so well,” said North Bench Fire Chief and Boundary County Fire Chiefs Association President Gus Jackson.

“I thought Curley Creek fire chief did a good job as incident commander,” said Hall Mountain Volunteer Firefighter Sandy Steinhagen. “He was friendly and appreciative of all the department that responded. Great to see so many departments working together with one goal.”

Along with the firefighters that responded, Boundary Ambulance, Idaho Department of Lands, and Red Cross all played a role. The Log Inn also provided the family a place to stay.

The house was a total loss, but there were no injuries. For those that would like to help, to donate food or clothing for the family, please contact Vincent at 208-304-7162 or Tia at 208-267-5495.
