Rutherford receives Alta Forest Products Annual Skilled Trade and Forestry Scholarship
Sabastian Rutherford was the winner of the 2018 Alta Forest Products Annual Skilled Trade and Forestry Scholarship for graduating seniors. As the winner of this scholarship, Sebastian received $1,000 to be used toward future schooling, which he plans to use as he goes to Calvary Chapel Bible College in Mountlake Terrace, Wash.
Sabastian’s essay discussed his plans and goals for his first three years after graduation while he is attending school. His plans include working in the manufacturing or construction industry to help raise funds for school and to pay for his living expenses.
Students applying for this scholarship had to answer a brief questionnaire and submit a two page essay that discussed their goals for the future as well as how their life has been impacted by someone that worked in either a skilled trade or the forestry industry.
Alta Forest Products is the largest Cedar Fencing producer in the world and its local Naples, Idaho facility employees around 120 people.
“We are proud to serve our Boundary County Community and look forward to hearing from Sebastian as he pursues his career goals,” said Ryan Comer, plant manager of Alta in Naples.
Students who wish to apply for this scholarship for the 2019 school year can receive an application from the Bonners Ferry High School Counseling Department.
