BONNERS FERRY — Amsoil Mountain Havoc presented by Mountain Mafia Entertainment took place over the weekend of June 8-10. The North American Off Road Championship drew top drivers and vehicles from United States and Canada.

Despite the unseasonably cold weather, scattered with rain, people turned out to watch the monster trucks participated in five events over the three days: Mac’s Tie Downs Toe Test, Mountain Mafia Havoc Hill Climb, Amsoil Hill ’n ’Hole, Warn Winch Rock Course, and the Tuff Country Mountain Man.

“The Havok event I think is one of the best in the series,” said Jim Olson of Boise, Idaho. “They have a few down in Nevada, Idaho, and northern Idaho, and the Havok event is great. It brings out some of the best racers and rigs in the country, really, so I think it is a fantastic event.”

“Mountain Havoc is pure vehicular violence,” said the announcer, as the custom machines, with 1,000-plus horsepower and nitrous, powered through the courses, crawling over boulders, or launching into the air.

Mountain Mafia Entertainment had signed an original six-part TV and Streaming deal with Velocity TV by Discovery and AmazonPrime. Live production and filming took place throughout the three days of competition, with cameras set up all over.

The event was open to the public with free camping, vendors, food, and music all weekend. The rain didn’t stop the spectators, as many came prepared with tents, umbrellas, rain gear, or just a modified trash bag.

All ages enjoyed the event, especially children, who gathered anxiously, trying to get the best look at the giant trucks as they roared by.

“There is nothing better than seeing the kids having their minds blown with the trucks and action,” said Mac Miltz of Mountain Mafia Entertainment.
