GENEALOGY: Info sought on woman who died in area

In hopes of locating a descendant or family friend, research for a Corsica, South Dakota, history book has lead me to Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

Alberta Corsica Rohlf was born on Jan. 16, 1906 to the parents of Albert and Louise Rohlf. Albert was the manager of the Goodrich-Call Lumber Company in the fledgling town of six months when Alberta was born. The town was so new that housing was short, so they made home in a small structure moved in from a neighboring village, which survived until it was removed in the early 1980s, last being used as a repair shop for electrical appliances.

Alberta eventually married Leonard Turner, I believe in North Dakota — still researching that — but passed away at the age of 35, on July 28, 1941 in Bonners Ferry and is laid to rest in the Grandview Cemetery.

It is annotated in the Douglas County Courthouse records that Alberta was the first child born in the town of Corsica and her parents named her with that distinction, usually towns were named after people, not the other way around.

I look forward to getting in contact with descendants to exchange information to be included in this book, as well as family friends and acquaintances that may be knowledgeable. If possible, a copy of her obituary would be nice to include.
