It’s quiet at BCMS for the next month or so…

Congratulations to our February Citizens of the Month who were celebrated for their caring attitude at all times. sixth grade: Ana Chase, seventh grade: Mia Blackmore, eighth grade: Rose Owens, and staff: Mrs. Stolley. March citizens will be honored for honesty.

Our competitive spirit roared loudly last week while students decorated their advisory doors as colleges represented in the NCAA March Madness. We use this opportunity to help students understand what college is and the opportunities they may have to attend. We also want them to understand the commitment and price and other important parts of attending college. What a great way to introduce such an important topic than by mixing information with fun and competition. Thanks to the many community members who spend time judging our doors. The winners were: sixth grade: Mrs. Stolley, seventh grade: Mrs. Kerttu, and eighth grade: Mr. Bonnell.

Now we prepare for the last quarter of the school year. Thursday, March 29, is the last day of the third quarter and report cards will be mailed home today. Fourth quarter will begin when we return from spring break. Fourth quarter is always fast and furious with many activities such as eighth grade trip to Silverwood, eighth grade promotion, and other end of the year activities.

Track is already going strong. They will have several away meets this but you are going to want to come to our only home meet which is Friday, April 20. Come see our HUGE team compete and show off their hard work.

Of course, spring break is next week (technically April 2-5). Enjoy the time with family during this week and take a deep breath before the last quarter of the year begins.

State testing will begin April 16! We always love this time of the year when students prove how much they have learned and the state assesses how we’ve done. Can’t wait…
