| May 3, 2018 1:00 AM

Miranda Wenk, a senior at Bonners Ferry High School, daughter of Dave Wenk, who works in the Boundary County Weed Department, was awarded one of 10 Idaho Association of Counties Scholarships. Wenk will receive $1,000 to help pay for her college education.

The fund was created to provide scholarships to children of county elected officials, county employees and grandchildren of county elected officials. County elected officials and employees contribute to the fund through personal donations and other fund-raising efforts such as auctions.

Part of the duties of the District Representative is to select the winners from the applications received. The representatives never award/grade those from within our district, this year Poston had District 5 and 6 with over 18 participants.

”It is truly humbling to see the talent that the state of Idaho has within our students,” said Poston.
