Thomas (Tom)John Thomas

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Uncle (Tom) Thomas John Thomas. He celebrated life fully for 72 years.

Tom passed away April 20, 2018, in the Kootenai Health Center, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, after a brief illness.

He was a loving and devoted son to the late Mizpah Miller (Martin) and Wes Thomas, a beloved brother to Phyllis Thomas and Ken Stone (Donna).

He was a kind, warm-hearted man whose wise cracks and stories will be missed by all of his nieces and nephews: Ken Thomas of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, Jim Eaves (Dia) of Arnold, Calif., Kevin Stone (Rita) of Sonora, Deborah Eaves of Yuma, Ariz., Mizpah Thomas of Woodland Park, Colo., and Rebecca Yates (Ron) of Dania Beach, Fla.

Tom was born and raised in Calaveras County, California. He attended Hazel Fischer School and graduated from Bret Harte High School in 1963. He went into the army and served in Vietnam.

After the passing of his mother, Mip, Tom moved to Idaho to be close to his sister and family.

Tom was a great man who would have given you the shirt off his back if you were his friend. He was strong, bold, brilliant, a rare larger-than-life kind of character.

He was a hard worker and had a great sense of humor, he always spoke fondly of his childhood friends and growing up in the “Big City” of Avery, Calif.

Tom was a wonderful man, son, brother and uncle. He will be missed by all of us left behind but he has a reunion with family and friends he has not seen in a long time.

There will be a memorial for Tom at Murphys’ Buena Vista Cemetery, Murphys, Calif., with the date to be determined.
