Mark Anthony Hedgecock

December 29, 1952 – April 15, 2018

Mark Anthony Hedgecock passed away April 15, 2018 from Viral Cardiac Disease at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, Wash. Along his trek he had two open heart surgeries, the first January 2017 and the second April 2018.

Mark was born and raised in Bonners Ferry and was the oldest son of Barbara (Belden) Hedgecock and the late Howard Hedgecock. After graduating from the Bonners Ferry High School in 1971, Mark moved to Smelterville, Idaho, where he met the love of his life Michelle.

Mark was survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Michelle Grochowski Hedgecock, son Don Hedgecock, his special girl Annyka, best friend Joe Ramirez, his mother Barbara Hedgecock, four brothers, two sisters, Michelle’s loving family as well as numerous nephews and nieces aunts and uncles.

Mark was a longtime employee for The State of Washington where he found his passion working with special needs adults and devoted the last years of his life taking care of his special needs great niece Annyka. Mark was more than a husband, dad, son or brother, he was always there for whoever needed it. He was our walking Google and could fix or build anything.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 3, at the Nazarene Church. Potluck will follow the service.
