Poston, Cossairt among primary election winners
BONNERS FERRY — County Clerk Glenda Poston and commissioner candidate Wally Cossairt were among the winners in Tuesday’s primary election.
There were 45,734 candidates marked on the 2,432 ballots that voters cast, either absentee or election day. There was a 40.4 percent turnout for this year’s May primary, compared to 46.4 percent in 2016 and 41.4 percent in 2014.
The following results will remain unofficial until Monday, May 21, when the commissioners will officially approve them.
“We had a wonderful crew working our elections at the polling sites along with staff at the courthouse,” said Boundary County Clerk Glenda Poston. “There are approximately 50 workers for the elections who handle the ballots, along with their support staff of family and friends. Again, many thanks to all.”
