Open house to discuss city's transportation master plan

| May 24, 2018 1:00 AM

The City of Bonners Ferry invites local residents, property owners, and organizations to participate in an open house for its multi-modal Transportation Master Plan.

The open house will take place from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, May 31, at the Armory Building, 6566 Main St., Bonners Ferry.

This is an opportunity to provide input to help identify local concerns, meet project team members, and ask questions. The open house will be informal where public can walk through the gym and interact with planners and consultants about various topic areas. Light refreshments will be provided.

As part of the multi-modal planning effort, the city will be working on analyzing potential future projects, assessing existing infrastructure, developing a capital improvement plan for city streets, identifying locations and destinations for future walking and biking paths, and reviewing pavement and sign conditions among many other things.

The final planning documents will include a list of Capital Improvement Projects, funding strategies and an implementation plan.

Members of the public can ask questions and learn more about the plan by emailing Angela Comstock at acomstock@jub.com or calling 208-762-8787.

Any person needing special accommodations to participate in the open house should contact the city 24 hours prior to the meeting at 208-267-3105.

The city assures that no person shall, on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex, as provided by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987 (Public Law 100.259), be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under any program or activity.
