Off highway vehicle safety class scheduled June 3

| May 31, 2018 1:00 AM

The Boundary County Sheriff’s Office is hosting an OHV safety class on June 3, at 9 a.m. at Recreation Park Road (East side of the Boundary County Fairgrounds). The class is for ATV and off road motorcycle riders under 16 years old. The class will provide instruction and certification required for unlicensed riders to operate their off highway vehicles on United States Forest Service roads and will last approximately three hours.

This course is not intended to teach how to ride but to educate young riders on laws relating to OHV operation and how to safely operate vehicles on public land. Part of the instruction will be skill practice. Attendees must provide their own vehicle, helmet, eye protection, gloves and appropriate clothing that includes over the ankle boots/shoes, long sleeve shirt and long pants.

Due to the nature of the instruction, class size will be limited. If the class size limit is exceeded, future classes will be scheduled.
