Lake Country Log and Beam Work: Award-winning custom construction
BONNERS FERRY — Living in an area surrounded by tree-blanketed mountains, beautiful views, and lots of room to roam, brings a nostalgic country feel to those both visiting and residing in and around Boundary County.
With the growing population in the North Idaho region, comes more work for local construction workers. Each company has its specialty — some gear toward masonry, while others specialize in custom carpentry.
Lake Country Log and Beam Work, owned by Jasper Naumann, specializes in log homes, but he also does general construction and both residential and commercial jobs.
“Anything with log I can do: framing, custom siding, roofs,” said Naumann. “I do it right the first time. Do it right or don’t do it at all.”
When Naumann was growing up, his father began a project building the family home, and he assisted with what he could, learning the trade.
“Building and construction have interested me ever since I was a little boy,” said Naumann. “I saw that I could make some money out of it so I started working during the summers as a teenager.”
After beginning his own business, his first official project was a large timber framed barn. Since then, Naumann has built various houses, cabins, and more, as well as refinishing projects.
The company has award winning structures in Coeur d’Alene, Spokane, and surrounding areas.
“I focus on quality, which is the most important thing to me,” said Naumann. “I honor my word, which is a big thing in construction. I do anything from high end custom homes down to if someone wants something simple. ”
After being in business for about 20 years, Naumann is grateful to his customers for spreading the word about his work to other potential clients.
“My customers are always really satisfied when we get done, even if it takes me a little bit more than what I thought,” said Naumann. “I honor what we say and I love what I do, so I have a good attitude.”
With deep roots in Boundary County, Naumann moved off to college in Moscow, Idaho, where he began his family and then career. He lived in Coeur d’Alene for about 10 years, eventually moving back up to Bonners Ferry.
“I love it here. I will be here for the rest of my days,” said Naumann. “I love my ‘office’.”
