Spaghetti feed, auction to benefit Brian Ashby

| November 8, 2018 12:00 AM

Brian Ashby, a Bonners Ferry native, was recently diagnosed with cancer which is already in an advanced stage and affecting numerous internal organs. Brian is a log truck driver in Boundary County and is the sole supporter for his wife Susannah, four children, and a new little one on the way. Brian is a wonderful friend, neighbor, and community member.

A spaghetti dinner and silent auction is being held to help raise funds to offset the tremendous costs of Brian’s medical treatments and living expenses for the family while Brian focuses on getting well. The event is planned for Saturday, Nov. 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Boundary County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall.

A delicious spaghetti dinner will accompany a silent auction with various items donated by the community, including a load of firewood from Everhart Logging, a unit of lumber from Idaho Forest Group, loads of mulch from Alta Forest Products, half a hog from Cushman Family Farms, a set of Trygg chains from White Mountain Chain, various handcrafted items from local artisans, a multitude of unique baskets of goods from local retailers and individuals, and much more. A live dessert auction is also planned.

Tickets are available at Battle Grounds Coffee, Lou’s Hair, and North Hill Tire. Tickets are $10 per plate and all funds will go directly to the Ashby Family. Pre-purchasing tickets is encouraged in order to get the most accurate head count for dinner.

Any businesses or individuals who would like to donate items for the auction or would like more information can contact Andrakay Pluid at 208-946-7598.

Anyone who would like to make monetary donations may do so at an account established at Columbia Bank for the “Benefit of Brian Ashby.”
