Hometown holiday celebrations planned
BONNERS FERRY — The day after Thanksgiving is one of the biggest shopping days of the year throughout the country, and Boundary County has plans to celebrate not only that day, but the holidays to come.
On Nov. 23-25, businesses in Boundary County are celebrating by participating in the Hometown Holidays. There will be flyers from the Chamber of Commerce displayed in businesses windows providing more detailed information about the events, and those businesses offer coupons, deals, and a chance to win prizes. There will also be coupons mailed out to community members on the Chamber of Commerce coupon sheet.
On Saturday, Dec. 1, the festivities continue, beginning with the 9B Ladies on the Loose at 10 a.m. The Pearl Theater is hosting a family movie showcasing “The Polar Express” at 1 p.m., and Santa and Mrs. Claus will be arriving on a firetruck to the Georgia Mae Plaza downtown at 4 p.m.
With the visitation of Santa and Mrs. Claus will be the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony accompanied with cookies, hot chocolate, and cider for a fun family event.
The American Legion is hosting the Festival of Crafts on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 at the Boundary County Fairgrounds Memorial and Exhibit Hall.
