'Who-who' wants to see live raptors?

| November 22, 2018 12:00 AM

‘Who-who’ wants to see live raptors? Birds of Prey Northwest is coming to Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge on Dec. 4 and 5, with three programs. On Dec. 4, the programs are at 5:30 or 7 p.m.; and on Dec. 5, at 10 a.m. Doors will open 15 minutes before each program starts.

The program is put on by Raptor Biologist Janie Veltkamp and Don Veltkamp, and hosted by the Friends of Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge. The live raptors include a western screech owl, great horned owl, Peregrine falcon, red-tailed hawk, golden eagle, and merlin.

The suggested donation is $5 per person. Pre-registration is required for the program of your choice and seating is limited. To register, please call the refuge office at 201-267-3888. To ensure that the birds stay calm and happy, please do not bring cameras or cell phones.
