| October 4, 2018 1:00 AM

Wow, what a day it was at Mirror Lake Golf Course for the 15th annual Impossible Open!

Thirty-eight players, the most ever to participate in the event, took on the golf course at its craziest and hardest. It was made even more difficult with the unusual north wind that occurred.

Kevin Larson took the Low Gross Champion of the World honors in a cardoff over Ed Moe who also shot 94, however Ed Moe did take the Low Net Champion of the World with his net score of 82 in a cardoff over Mike Halford. Coming in third place only a stroke back was Matt Pluid carding an 83. In the Blind Draw division it was the team of Ed Moe and Art High winning a cardoff over Steve Nelson and Cyle Young both shooting 174. There were also 5 skins on the day with Mike Halford besting the field on hole 3, Brion Poston on hole 5, Mike Jelinek on hole 6, Matt Pluid on hole 9, and Matt Maggi on hole 15. A great time was had by all.

Next Sunday the golf course will be the scene of the Flannel Shirt Open Foodbank Fundraiser and Chili Cookoff. Format is Individual Modified Stableford and it will be an 11 a.m. shotgun start. Please bring a donation for the Bonners Ferry Food Bank, which you can drop off at the golf course at any time. Also, Ralph Lotspeich and Julie Williams will donate a check that matches the tournaments green fee total to the food bank.

Call the Pro Shop at 208-267-5314 to sign up by Friday night if you would like to participate in this wonderful event.
