Richard James Lozier

Richard James Lozier, 81, passed away Sept. 26, 2018, at Boundary Community Hospital. Rich was born in Bonners Ferry to Edmund H. “Ted” Lozier and Louetta M. Smith Lozier on May 5, 1937. Rich attended school in Bonners Ferry and four years in Thompson Falls, graduating from Bonners Ferry High School in 1955.

Following graduation, Rich worked in the lumber industry in Boundary County and automotive mechanic and body repair in Spokane before moving to the Seattle-Tacoma area, where he worked for The Boeing Company on the 747 assembly line; he later returned to automotive body and fender repair in Kent and Enumclaw, Wash.

Upon his retirement in the early 1990s, he returned to Bonners Ferry where he renewed his love of hunting and fishing, cutting wood and part time automotive repairs. He began a 20-year relationship with Audrey Tusing until her passing. Also preceding him in death were his parents and brothers Carlisle and Donald.

He is survived by his son, James, and daughter, Linda, from a prior marriage. Also surviving are sisters Elva “Peach” Baker (Alva) and Marie Lozier; brother John Lozier (Sue), all of Bonners Ferry; and brother Edmund “Gene” Lozier of Tacoma, Wash.
