One month later, another car goes up in flames

BONNERS FERRY — Another car fire took place on Monday, Oct. 15, around 5 p.m. on Paradise Valley Loop.
According to South Boundary Fire Chief Tony Rohrwasser, the driver of the Chevrolet pickup was driving when he they noticed sparks and saw smoke coming from under the dash.
The driver pulled over and got the vehicle off to the side of the road. Paradise Valley Fire was called out with automatic aid from South Boundary Fire and North Bench Fire. Boundary Ambulance, Idaho State Police, and Boundary County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the call.
The car fire took place close to the same place as the last major car fire, which occurred one month and one day ago on Pothole Road, on the same side of U.S. 95. There were no injuries in this fire either, but like the last one, the vehicle was a loss.
Firefighters were able to get the fire under control as the daylight faded to night.
“We used everybody,” said Rohrwasser, talking about how all three fire departments worked together to get the flames under control. “Automatic aid works great. It went well and we got it out.”
