The Badgers boys soccer team traveled to the 3A State Tournament in Twin Falls, playing their first-round match against McCall/Donnelly. They won 1-0, with Jayden Clair scoring the goal.

The team lost its semifinal game versus Ketchum Community School, with the Cutthroats winning 3-0 to advance to the title game.

On Saturday, Oct. 20, the Badgers played against Filer in the third-place game. The two teams were tied 0-0 after regular time. In overtime, Filer scored the golden goal on a penalty kick after a handball foul was called against the Badgers.

Bonners Ferry went unbeaten during the regular season with an 11-0-3 record, and finished the year at 13-3-3.

“The Badgers team had an amazing season,” coach Wayne Wilkerson said. “We were expecting a much better showing at the state tournament, but the competition, as usual, was tough.

“I can’t express enough my appreciation and love for the players, coaching staff, parents, high school, and school district support of this program. They all seriously ROCK! Our community can be very supportive of these young men ... except for the hoverboard incident, but I digress.”
