It is with great sadness that we embrace the passing of Ruth Peterson on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018 at the Community Restorium in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018 in the Mountain Springs Church in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

Ruth was born in Cando, N.D., on March 7, 1943 to Harry A. and Florence K. Abercrombie. Ruth was the third of six children. Ruth attended and graduated High School in Bisbee, N.D.

On June 24, 1962, Ruth married Larry Peterson in Bisbee, N.D. Ruth and Larry moved often, following a road construction company where Larry worked for eight years. In the fall of 1969 Ruth and Larry moved to Bonners Ferry to farm with Larry’s uncle Maynard Peterson. Along with being a devoted wife and mother she assisted by working in the fields driving tractor when needed. She was Farm Bureau Wife of the Year in 1984.

Along with farm life, Ruth also found time to volunteer at school. Active in Church, member of the Friends of the Restorium, very busy with her lawn, flowers, and garden. The coffee pot was always on and a plate of snacks available for anybody who stopped by.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Harry and David; and a sister, Mildred.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Larry, son Randy and grandson Ryan, all of Bonners Ferry; brother Mark Abercrombie of Minnesota; and sister Mary Boe of Rolla, N.D.
